Accountant General Office of the Federation in Abuja in Flames and Twitter is Buzzing

The Treasury House where the office of Nigeria’s Accountant General is located in the Federal Capital Territory,
Abuja, is currently on fire.
Millions of Nigerians has been puzzled by the recent fire outbreak in #accountantgeneral office of the federation.
Citizens have been left with many theories and thoughts, which is currently being shared on twitter.
It was gathered that the fire started from the third floor and razed most parts of the building upwards including the
floor where the Accountant General’s office is situated.

PremiumtimesNg reports that the fire destroyed two key departments, including the one that processes consolidated
revenue sharing amongst the three tiers of government.
The account-general, was scheduled to be at the office Wednesday morning, but he had not arrived before the fire broke
out, according to one of the officials. Mr Ahmed did not immediately answer calls seeking comments on the development
reported by PremiumtimesNg.
Firefighters battled hard to put out the fire.
The Federal Government of Nigeria @FGNigeria reports that No financial record was destroyed in the fire that gutted
the office of the accountant. Honorable Prince Clement Ikanade Agba the Minister of State, Budget and National
Planning, Federal Republic of Nigeria @ClemAgba went to the scene to assess, firsthand, the extent of damage.
Hon. Prince stated that ”Initial reports say the fire started as a result of an electrical fault from an air conditioner, but
we are launching a full-scale investigation to determine the immediate and remote cause(s) of the fire.
After reviewing the damage done, I can confirm that while some documents were destroyed, our online database was not
affected and all financial records remain intact.
As a preemptive measure for unforeseen incidents like this, we also have a backup database outside Abuja for recovery in
the event of any loss of data at the center.
I must commend the combined efforts of @Fedfireng and the Fire Services of the @cenbank , Federal Capital Territory,
Apostle Johnson Suleman a televangelist and the senior pastor and general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries
International, took to his twitter page to state his findings and this got the everybody thinking.
