#JusticeForUwa has sparked up a just movement and an active Protest against Rape
#JusticeForUwa have been trending for a while now and many celebrities has voiced out against Rape.
Nigerian top celebrities like BlaqBonez, Samklef, Don Jazzy etc have taken up a placard to shun this cankerworm that is currently eating the women of our society.

Men and women gathered together and marched to Edo state Police command headquarters Benin City — peacefully protesting against the horrific death of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa . The movement was deemed the Silent Walk / Rape Sensitization.

The IGP also assured that the perpetrators will be brought to book .

The Nigerian police also added– the Inspector General of Police has deployed additional investigations aids and forensic support to Edo State Police Command to complement and expedite actions in the ongoing investigations into the unfortunate incident.
The IGP, while condemning the attack, commiserates with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased. He calls for calm and assures that the Force will surely bring the perpetrators of the callous act to book in the shortest possible time.
THE SAD STORY OF LATE UWAILA
Vera Uwaila Omozuwa is a 22-year-old 100Level student of Microbiology at the University of Benin, Edo State, was brutally raped and killed inside a church in the city while reading.
The tragic incident, happened on May 30, 2020, according to friends, saw her attackers smashing her head with a fire extinguisher and leaving her unconscious around the Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City, the state capital.
Despite being rushed to the intensive care unit of a hospital, Uwaila couldn’t make it as she succumbed to the injuries sustained during the savage attack.
Friends and all those, who knew her closely during her lifetime, have been paying tribute and calling for the perpetrators of the crime to be brought to justice.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of our loved one, friend, sister and course mate.
“She was raped inside the church and had her head smashed with a fire extinguisher in broad day light around Ikpoba Hill, Benin City. This happened yesterday, May 30, 2020,” one friend wrote.
A Twitter user with the handle @Weezard2 wrote, “Now this is a girl that just got admission, hasn’t even done matriculation, and she was murdered in church.

“She’s a newly admitted student of University of Benin, Microbiology Department. #justiceForUwa.”
Also commenting on the incident, another Twitter user with the handle @MohammedBlack_ said, “Saddening how our community gradually becomes unsafe for us. People getting killed on a daily frivolously.
“May Uwa’s soul rest in peace and I hope her family ever finds the strength to bear this loss. This is for all of us. Hopefully, the perpetrators are caught! #justiceForUwa.”
In his own tribute on Twitter, OptomDr0812 said, “I had high hopes that you will make it, I told your mum to be strong, you are just too soft to go through such excruciating pain.
