
Singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of the “King of Rock and Roll” Elvis Presley, died Thursday at the age of 54 after being taken to a Los Angeles hospital, her mother said.
“We have to share the terrible news that my beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has passed away from us,” her mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We are asking for your personal information as we work to cope with this devastating loss,” the statement said.
According to entertainment website TMZ, Lisa Marie Presley suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, Los Angeles. She was taken to hospital on Thursday. She attended the Golden Globes earlier this week in Beverly Hills, where actor Austin Butler won best actor for his portrayal of his father in the movie Elvis.
Butler paid tribute to Lisa Marie Presley and her mother at the reception. Elvis Presley died of a heart attack in August 1977 at the age of 42. Lisa Marie Presley was born on February 1, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father owned Graceland, a popular tourist attraction in the city. Elvis was 9 years old when he died there. His solo music career began in 2003 with his debut album, To Whom It May Concern. This was followed by Now What in 2005, both reaching the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

In 2012, the third album “Storm and Grace” was released. He was married four times. She married pop star Michael Jackson in 1994, just 20 days after divorcing her first husband, musician Danny Keough. The celebrity couple split in 1996 as Jackson battled child abuse allegations. In 2002, Presley married her father’s admirer, actor Nicolas Cage. Four months later, Cage filed for divorce. Her fourth marriage was to guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood. Their divorce was finalized in 2021. Her only son, musician Benjamin Keough, died in 2020 at the age of 27, which was ruled a suicide by the Los Angeles County Coroner.
Lisa Marie Presley said in her essay that she posted on Instagram for her People magazine earlier this year that she was “overwhelmed” by her son’s death, remembering her son. She has a daughter, Riley Keough, 33, who is an actress, and twins, Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14.
